This one-day symposium highlights faculty and student research in the interdisciplinary field of urban studies as situated within a liberal arts curriculum. Urban Studies exists as a major in less than a dozen national liberal arts colleges, and only a handful of these schools are urban campuses. In it’s fourth year of existence at Trinity College, the Urban Studies Program has already entered the top dozen among 41 majors at the College. There are certainly challenges in this rapid growth, given the breadth of interconnected interests, from Biology to Studio Arts, Engineering to English, and across many other humanities and social science fields. Yet there are also great strengths in that breadth, and we seek to celebrate these strengths at Trinity.
The event will be held on Saturday, April 1, 2016 from 8:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. at the Smith House located at 123 Vernon Street, Hartford, CT.
